Daily Direct Courier Services ("we," "our," or "us") built the Courier Platform app as a productivity tool for courier and delivery professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
Location Data
- When In Use: We collect your precise location to calculate delivery routes, display your position on maps, and record delivery stop coordinates for proof of delivery.
- Background Location: With your permission, we collect location data in the background to automatically track mileage when you enter or leave your designated depot location (geofencing). This enables accurate mileage logging without manual input.
Camera and Photos
- Barcode Scanning: We access your camera to scan package barcodes.
- Proof of Delivery Photos: We capture photos as proof of delivery, which may include GPS coordinates and timestamps embedded in the image.
Locally Stored Data
- Delivery job information (addresses, client details, pricing)
- Mileage records and routes
- Expense records
- Client information
- Proof of delivery photos and signatures
How We Use Your Information
All information collected is used solely to:
- Calculate and optimize delivery routes
- Track mileage for business records and tax purposes
- Generate invoices and reports
- Provide proof of delivery documentation
- Improve your workflow efficiency
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit, upload, or store your data on external servers. Your delivery records, client information, mileage data, and photos remain exclusively on your iPhone or iPad.
This means:
- You have complete control over your data
- Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device
Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit your personal data to any third parties.
The app uses Apple's built-in services (MapKit for routing, AVFoundation for camera) which are governed by Apple's privacy policy. No data is sent to third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Your Rights and Data Control
You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app
- Export: You can export invoices, mileage reports, and expense summaries as PDFs or CSV files
- Deletion: You can delete individual jobs, clients, mileage records, or expenses at any time within the app
- Complete Removal: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all associated data from your device
Location Permission Management
You can modify location permissions at any time:
- Open your device's Settings
- Navigate to Privacy & Security > Location Services
- Select Courier Platform
- Choose your preferred setting (Never, While Using, or Always)
Disabling "Always" location access will disable automatic geofence-based mileage tracking but will not affect other app functionality.
Children's Privacy
This app is designed for professional courier and delivery use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is not intended for use by minors.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
